Comcast to Offer Netflix With Cable Bundles
Comcast is about to brand it super easy to sign upwards for Netflix.
The cable giant on Fri appear plans to offering Xfinity packages that include a Netflix subscription as part of an expanded partnership with the streaming service. Comcast hasn't yet shared details of these packages, just said information technology expects to launch a "variety of initial offers" that include Netflix this month. The packages will be open up to new and existing customers, though availability will "vary by market."
The announcement comes after Comcast started offering Netflix on its X1 platform in 2022, letting users easily switch between the app and their cable service. The company said almost half of X1 customers are "actively" using Netflix on the platform today.
"Netflix is a great partner, and we are excited to offer its services to our customers in new ways that provide them with more than selection, value and flexibility," Comcast Chief Business organisation Evolution Officer Sam Schwartz said in a statement. "The seamless integration of Netflix with the vast Xfinity amusement library on X1 present a unique and comprehensive experience for customers."
Meanwhile, Spotify this week launched a new Premium subscription program that includes Hulu for $12.99 a month. Spotify Premium normally costs $9.99 a month and Hulu's Limited Commercials plan is typically $7.99 a calendar month, so this new package option is $four.99 a month cheaper than subscribing to both separately. At this point, the parcel is only available for existing Spotify Premium subscribers, but the companies plan to open it up to non-paying Spotify users this summer.
